cmdPhone can perform various phone related functions with mobile phones, SIP phones and landlines located  in most countries in the world.

In order to use this tool you will need to obtain a free certificate (Sandbox) which is valid for 30 days. (Instructions below) You can of course also download a "production" certificate which uses paid "credits"

Steps to obtain a free Sandbox certificate and setup cmdPhone on your system: (There is now a wizzard that will guide you though this)
  1. Create an account with the BT SDK here (cmdPhone consumes the BT SDK API)
  2. Create a PFX certificate by running this java tool: (to keep things simple set your password to 7 characters or less)
  3. You will also need to download as required this cert to use sandbox(free) certs and/or this one for production(paid) certs
  4. Finally you will need to update app.config as required

You can find a more detailed explanation of the restrictions on sandbox certificates here but as of 14/10/08 are as follows:
  • Messaging/SMS - 10 international messages / day. 20 Characters / message
  • Voice Call - 10 international calls of 2 mins / day.
  • Conference Call - 10 international calls (upto 4 participants max) of 2 mins / day.
  • Authentication/WLA - 100 requests / day

You can also find a list of blocked countries here
